The Northern Sydney Home Nursing Service (NSHNS) is a domiciliary community nursing organisation. The service operates across the Northern Sydney Health area from six locally based centres: Manly, Mona Vale, Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai, Ryde and North Sydney.

Northern Sydney Home Nursing Service has five Oncology / Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNC), who can provide expert clinical advice and education to patients and carers. This expertise is further used in the ongoing support of the generalist nurse, when caring for Oncology/Palliative care patients. The Clinical Nurse Consultants liaise with treating centres and promote continuity of care between hospital and the home. They understand the complexities of treatments and the ongoing effect on patient and carers and are committed to the patients' rights to be involved in decisions relating to their health.

Other services provided are:
General nursing care, Eg Wound management, intravenous antibiotics, skin care, help with medication, pain management and personal hygiene.

Support to the aged and/or disabled or to those with chronic illness.

Advice on diet, safety and mobility to assist recovery and enable people to stay at home.

Counselling and support to terminally ill people and to their families/carers.
